Photos from a shoot at Ölvisholt Brugghús in March 2015. Located an hour east of Reykjavik near the town of Selfoss, Ölvisholt produces 30 hectoliters per batch on modern equipment housed in a rustic farmhouse. It was a special visit for me, as they have long been a personal favorite brewery, highlighted by a glass from the tank of their Lava Imperial Stout (80% smoked malt), a beer I’ve had countless times in Colorado and during previous visits to Reykjavik. Their newest beer, a pilot Saison hopped with Nelson Sauvin and Pacific Jade, it scheduled for release in Iceland in 2015.

Hey- Do you know if this brewery offers tours? I’m looking to get to a brewery during a trip to Iceland this March, but I won’t be on the north coast. The brewery in Reykjavik only offers tours on days I won’t be there, so i’m looking into other breweries. This seems to be the only other brewery on the south coast, but I can’t find any information.
Let me know if you have any insight!
Thanks!
Kelsey
Kelsey, the brewery will arrange personal visits with groups if you call or write in advance.
