Gänstaller Bräu Coolship Hopping

April 2015, the new batch of Gänstaller Bräu Amber Weizenbock is sent to the coolship for the final hop addition.

Beer and meteorology do not cross paths very often. The coolship steam-off with a stiff wind blowing across the wort is a demonstration of the thermodynamics that create lake effect snow. Cool air over a warm body of water, hop particles as condensation nuclei, and sticky wort precipitating out on nearby surfaces, including camera lenses.
